A compact sampling drum machine that is capable of summoning monstrous beats or delicately layered sample-scapes, before setting you up to unleash your creation using the powerful sequencer.
Drum machines are something of an Elektron specialty, but this is only half of Digitakt’s story. Watch it weave a spectrum of wonderful sounds into any tale. Let the machine do the talking, and see where the story leads.
Pandora’s audio box.
With a multitude of sound-sculpting features, this is a box you should open at your own risk. Using the hi-res encoders, you can easily access the sample-crafting, the versatile multimode and base-width filters, break the sonic ice with overdrive and various send effects, and wield two LFOs for twice the modulation.
In addition to the eight sample tracks, if you get the urge to MIDI-control and sequence up to eight external instruments you can do that, too. Or stereo process an external audio source and bolster it with some lush reverb and delay. This means Digitakt won’t just reset your creative limits, it’ll shatter them into pieces. How you assemble or reassemble things, that’s where the fun begins.
Let Song Mode sing.
Digitakt has Song Mode at its disposal, a feature that lets you create, edit, and play compositions made up of dozens of your patterns. It’s a hugely useful feature for all kinds of scenarios and for all kinds of artists.
Want to have a deeply customizable backing track, leaving your hands free for other sweet gear? That’s entirely possible. Extend beyond the limits of the 64-step sequencer. Create entire set-lists in a single song. And so much more.
Hitting play is only the beginning of Song Mode’s potential.
Superior sequencing.
The full-featured step sequencer lets you control both structure and sound. Press a step and tweak any parameter onto it for ultra-fast and detailed sequencing. Real-time record every twist and turn you make if you like, or build your composition one tonal nuance at a time. Add some controlled randomness and logic with the variety-inspiring trig conditions.
The amount of musical content you can fit into each of the 64 micro-timed steps per track is astonishing. You can choose the transport speed and number of steps per track, for some proper polymetric power. The sequencer is like a canvas. Expressively splash those colors all over it, or methodically and accurately place each fine-tuned stroke and add embellishments later.
Cover your tracks.
Ultra-durable back-lit buttons let you play and control the eight dedicated tracks for internal audio and an additional eight for external MIDI gear. The big, bright OLED display will provide all the visual information you need as you explore the weird and wonderful depths of the machine. Tye everything together with its powerful master page. Class Compliant USB audio gives you even more connection options for a rewarding music-making experience.
